Mortgage rates are on the rise again and global events are the reason.

At the end of February lenders were offering rates from:
3.67% (2yr fixed 60% LTV)

Now for the same type of deal, rates offered are from 4.37%

This is a sharp increase in just a few weeks.

What has changed?

While inflation has just been confirmed as holding at 3%, higher oil prices are expected to feed through in the coming months increasing inflationary pressure and influencing rate expectations now.
