St Mawgan Rally is often coined as one of the best family friendly rallies. This fabulous community fund raising event has a real interactive feel. With the famous Majorettes, Dancing Diggers, Motorbike Limbo, Fergy Fillies, Landrover Challenge, Vintage Car obstacle course, Tractor Driving Challenge, Steam Engine Driving, evening entertainment, home made food, craft tent, bar, shopping, Clay Pigeon shooting...the list goes on and on. History of St Mawgan Rally. St Mawgan Eccentric Gentlemanβs Association (SMEGA) formally SMEGMA was formed in the Falcon Inn, St Mawgan in 2004. The exact date has been lost in the mists of time but the original aim of SMEGA was to help out any local residents in need and raise money for local charities. Since then we have tackled numerous tasks including moving sheds and mowing lawns and on one occasion even moved the Church Organ in St Mawgan β We have to confess though that this was an electric Yamaha version and not the old one that youβd expect to find in a church! Over the years weβve held many Charity Beach Barbecues at Mawgan Porth and often featured local bands for entertainment. We have our own marquees and provide them, along with our barbecue, to local events such as the Feast Day Sports and the local Gymkhana and Horseshow. The Annual St Mawgan Pram Push has our enthusiastic support and weβve always tried to be there for the local school and church if needed. Our biggest change though, was when Maurice Raby β sadly no longer with us β suggested we should hold a vintage rally on his land just outside the village which was the home of St Mawgan Rally for over a decade. Without the help of local residents who pitch in and help wherever needed though, there is no doubt that this SMEGA event would struggle to take place. We would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the St Mawgan Rally committee & SMEGA to thank the people of St Mawgan and any others who give their valued help and support.
