Really pleased to be featured in story behind the business series.

When I started Stride Financial Advice, the goal was simple: to build a modern, independent financial planning firm that puts thoughtful, personal advice at the centre of the relationship.

I love having an office in Clevedon. It’s been a great place to network and meet other local business owners, and just as importantly there are some excellent spots for coffee and lunch!

I’m really looking forward to hearing more about Rory’s journey at the very top of elite sport.

I’ve always found it fascinating listening to people who operate at that level – not just the results you see on the outside, but the habits, setbacks and small decisions that get them there.

There’s usually a lot more graft and doubt behind it than people realise.

Rory is one of the standout talents in modern professional cycling. He’s the reigning Irish national champion, a winner at the WorldTour level and recently competed for Ireland at the World Championships in Rwanda - a sign of just how highly he’s regarded in the sport.

Fresh from his strongest season yet, he’s just signed with Unibet Rose Rockets, a new team aiming to shake up the sport with bold, aggressive racing and big ambitions. They’re hoping to make the Tour de France next year!

On the night, you’ll hear Rory’s journey first-hand: the setbacks, the breakthroughs, the moments that nearly broke him and the ones that shaped him.

From fighting for contracts to winning on the biggest stages, his story is a masterclass in resilience, endurance and the power of consistently showing up. The lessons translate far beyond cycling, into business, leadership and life.
