CULTURE IN A COOL PLACE

is delighted to welcome the Border Readers back to St Cuthbert’s, Elsdon, on Friday, 26 September, at 7pm, for another captivating evening of professional storytelling. This time the Readers will transport you straight to the seashore with four, spellbinding seaside tales of murder, mystery and romance, written by authors based in the North East and the Borders:

• Mud, by Vera author Ann Cleeves, is a haunting tale of teenage angst turned murderous on a Devon estuary.

• In Tony Glover’s The Weather Glam, Violet seeks a guiding light on Lindisfarne.

• Linda Cracknell’s Crossing the Bar is also set on the Devon sands and echoes Tennyson’s poem.

• Elsdon’s own Jo Scott has written Touch & Go, a witty romance about a woman stranded on her boat in Amble.

This intimate, live, listening experience is open to everyone. The performance will last about two hours including an interval.
