📣‼️ An exciting opportunity has arisen within Oasis Financial for an experienced Paraplanning Assistant to join our team ‼️📣

Oasis Financial was established in 2022, with a vision of providing comprehensive and professional outsourced paraplanning services, exclusively for St. James’s Place partners. We pride ourselves on our commitment to excellence and reliability, and enjoy building trusting, long-lasting relationships with our clients.

So what are we looking for?

✨ This is a part-time role for an employed Paraplanning Assistant, based remotely. It would suit someone who is super organised, detail-oriented and thrives in a busy environment!

✨ The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting our paraplanning team by collating ceding scheme information, liaising with various investment and pension providers and ensuring Business Assurance standards are met. Completion of less complex suitability letters such as new investments and ongoing reviews are also a key part of the role.

✔️ Experience of using SJP systems is essential
✔️ Good technical knowledge and industry experience
✔️ Able to work independently
✔️ Excellent communication and organisational skills
✔️ Extremely attentive to detail

The 26th of August will always be a special day for me as it marks the day I left the 9-5 job role I loved to set up Oasis Financial - and today we’re celebrating 3 years of hard work, passion and incredible growth! ✨🎈

I’m so grateful for the valuable experiences, the meaningful connections, and the constant support and encouragement I’ve received along the way. I’ll always be forever grateful to my wonderful clients for allowing me the privilege of being able to call what I enjoy and love doing, ‘work’.

From initially designing templates and business related literature in my little office at home, to the more recent rebranding of our logo and website launch, it’s certainly been an exciting and busy journey, with its challenges I’ll add, but so rewarding and enjoyable.

So here’s to another year of growth, goal-setting and doing what we love and do best! 🎉

Today was a refreshing change from my usual work from home routine, starting with a 5am wake up call and spending the day in the beautiful city of Edinburgh at the St James's Place Wealth Management Partnership Connect Conference 2025!

An incredible opportunity I am so grateful to have been a part of, engaging and connecting with others on a deeper level and taking part in various workshops, all of which were so beneficial and provided some really useful tips and advice around building connections and consistency in business marketing, in addition to various discussions around risk volatility and the upcoming government changes affecting pensions, inheritance tax and intergenerational planning.

It was especially a pleasure to meet and connect with Linzi Magee, David Foster CeMAP CeRER DipPFS, Adam Tomlinson DipPFS and Kate Swift - some really great and interesting like-minded individuals!

Despite reminding myself this morning not to forget to capture the obligatory ‘in action selfie’ at the conference… I did. So here’s a few others along with a wet and rainy selfie instead 🤣

A huge thank you to Louisa Bestford for the invitation to Hay and Kilner’s chocolate making workshop last night, hosted by Jane, an artisian chocolatier from Davenport's Chocolates 🍫

It was great to catch up and meet some new and interesting friendly faces, with lots of laughs and over-indulging!

Judging by my masterpiece creation, I think it’s safe to say I’ll be sticking to Paraplanning for a little while longer!… 🫣🤭

What a fantastic evening we had last night at Wylam Brewery!

Celebrating the 75th anniversary of The Lord Taverners, while raising money for a great cause and belly laughing all night long!

Some really talented comedy acts, great food (and wine 🥴) and just all round electric energy. Winning a prize in the raffle just topped it all off 🙌🏼😄

⚠️💻 How do you tackle cyber security and ensure your client’s data is protected?

With increasing internet scams and phishing, this area is undoubtedly a common topic of discussion. The relationship you have with your clients is a valuable asset and being able to provide them with reassurance and confidence, is key.

St. James’s Place is one of the UK’s largest life and pension companies and recently, they required their entire supply chain (over 2,800 independent businesses) to obtain certification of Cyber Essentials Plus. This resulted in a whopping 80% reduction in cyber security incidents! 👏🏼

CE+ involves a verified assessment and a technical audit of the company’s IT infrastructure, in order to certify that the installed software is supported to help reduce the organisation’s vulnerability to common cyber attacks.

So to strengthen our cybersecurity posture, we are delighted to share our renewal of being Cyber Essentials Plus certified, which demonstrates our commitment to cyber security and to our clients 🙌🏼🌟

Let’s talk timescales!.. ⏰

One of the most important factors of advising is undoubtedly managing client expectations within a timely manner to achieve the best outcome. However, we understand this can sometimes prove difficult when juggling various client appointments and other day to day tasks, as well as admin and BA compliance checks in-between.

So, how can we help? We are committed to providing our clients with unique and reliable paraplanning support. We aim to deliver a consistent approach by working with a limited number of partner practices at one time, which ensures we continue to provide a prompt and efficient turnaround, so you will never be left wondering ‘when?’!

Oh my goodness, December is flying by!

A very busy, exciting and eventful year is drawing to a close and we’re looking forward to a well-earned break filled with festivities and spending quality time with family and friends.

At the end of each year, I always enjoy taking some time out to reflect, both personally and professionally, and to start planning and setting goals for the year ahead. So to share a snippet of what this looks like, here are a few highlights from 2024!..

Personally -

🌴 Our wedding! Married on the most beautiful beach in the Riviera Maya - the most amazing day and honeymoon.

🤿 We qualified as PADI Open Water Divers!

🗽 We ticked New York off the bucket list in June - averaging 70,000 miles of walking over 5 days!

👣 More recently, we welcomed our little nephew into the world in October!

Professionally -

✨ Oasis Financial has continued to grow and expand and as a result, we were excited to make the change from sole trader status to a limited company in March.

🌍 We launched our brand new website and company rebrand in September, which was a HUGE business goal achieved!

👏🏼 We continue to reflect our core business values through supporting and working with some truly wonderful people. It is such a blessing to love what you do and is even more rewarding to be part of someone else’s success story.

📱It’s been fantastic to connect with so many new and interesting people through various networking events - something we’ve started to get a little bit more involved in recently.

So, what’s on the agenda for 2025? Well, that would be telling! 🤫 But we do have some very exciting things in the pipeline, both personally and professionally, and we can’t wait to share them with you, so watch this space! ✨
