Dutch/Flemish style frame with water gilded slip in 24ct gold leaf over red bole. Always a pleasure to make this style frame, the deep contrast of the rich dark shine against the bright illumination of the gold is very satisfying.

A recent frame for artist David Miller, its always a real pleasure to frame for him.

Another beautiful hand finished frame from master craftsman Chris Newell. Until meeting Chris framing presented real difficulties, and often ended in great disappointment. Off the peg mouldings, even though there's a vast array to choose from, were always hard to match perfectly with any particular oil painting, so having an artist with a good eye has made the process a joy instead. Chris is based here in West Wales, but can obviously take on work from anywhere in the UK if you can get it to him. DM me if you would like his contact details...

A very enjoyable restoration commission. The picture, an early photograph coloured with paint, was in danger of disintegrating altogether. It also provided the perfect excuse to use one of our antique moulding planes to make a suitable frame.
