🦘 Kangaroo Self Storage hops into Rochdale, adding sixteenth site to its portfolio 🎉

SSA UK member Kangaroo Self Storage has announced the acquisition of the former Moon Furniture site on Roch Valley Way, marking its 16th asset and further strengthening its presence in the North West.

The new facility is set to provide 43,000 sq. ft. of storage space, including around 10,000 sq. ft. of drive-up, garage-style units, alongside offices and services for businesses, householders and students.

The redevelopment will also include solar panels as part of plans to improve the building’s environmental credentials.

Chris Stevens, CEO at Kangaroo Self Storage, described the acquisition as another significant step in the company’s strategy of repurposing former retail sites as it continues to expand across the UK.

Congratulations to our supplier member, OpenTech Alliance, on the exciting news! 👏
OpenTech Alliance has announced that it has signed a Letter of Intent to acquire Netherlands-based SAM Systems, marking another step in the company’s continued growth in the self storage industry.

The proposed acquisition will expand OpenTech’s European presence and add SAM Systems’ smart-lock technology to its portfolio, bringing together smart locks, mobile access and centralised management.

Those heading to the FEDESSA Conference & Trade Show in Wiesbaden, 22–24 September, will be able to meet the OpenTech and SAM Systems teams and see the technology at Stand 5.
