We know how stressful moving can feel - so we’ve pulled together some simple tips to help you stay in control and feel more settled from day one. 🏡
Whether you're upsizing, downsizing, or moving for the first time, these ideas can take some of the pressure off.
1️⃣ Declutter with purpose
Ask yourself: “Do I really need this?” Less stuff = fewer boxes = smoother move.
2️⃣ Sort by category, not room
Pack into labelled baskets or boxes - kitchen gadgets, tech cables, skincare, etc. Makes unpacking way easier and creates instant order.
3️⃣ Create a ‘day one’ box
Think kettle, tea, snacks, phone chargers, cleaning wipes, loo roll - all the essentials you’ll want easy access to.
4️⃣ Don’t do it all alone
Moving is a big life event. If it feels overwhelming, it’s okay to ask for help from friends, family or even professional unpackers.
5️⃣ Weekend bag strategy
Pack as if you’re away for a few nights - comfy clothes, toiletries, and PJs. If things are delayed, you’ll still feel human.
6️⃣ Loft and garage go first
Pack these up early in clear, labelled, stackable boxes. Out of sight, but still sorted.
7️⃣ Unpack kids’ rooms first
Familiar toys and bedding help little ones settle - which helps everyone sleep better.
