A Plea to the Public.
Here in Milton Keynes, we are spoilt for parks and open green spaces. However, I’d like to make a plea on behalf of Beacon Angling Club, based at Mount Farm Park.
If you use the park, please take your rubbish home with you.
As the angling club manages the lake, it isn’t our responsibility to clear up after other park users.
This morning, myself and my daughter spent two hours litter picking around the lake. As a club, we do our best to look after the area and keep it clean.
Our members have toilet have their own toilet facilities as per our rules this includs a pop-up toilet or a bucket and bag, and they are required to take everything home with them. Members are also asked to pick up any rubbish left around the fishing pegs, which they regularly do.
I’m very pleased to say that the rubbish we collected this morning was from other park users, not our members.
If you are using the park and need the toilet, there are facilities available at the pub or shops across the way. Please do not defecate in or around the lake. We even had to pick up dirty toilet roll that had been left behind this morning.
Please remember that our parks and green spaces are there for everyone to enjoy. The only thing we should be leaving behind is our footprints.
Thank you for your understanding and for helping us keep Mount Farm Park clean and enjoyable for everyone.
Thank you to staff at Inn On The Lake for allowing us to dispose of this rubbish in their bins.
