Something significant has changed in UK pensions.

The new Pension Schemes Act 2026 introduces reserve powers that could allow future governments to direct part of workplace pension default funds into certain types of investments, including UK growth assets.

For many people, workplace pensions stay invested in default funds for years without ever being reviewed.

Understanding where your pension is invested, and whether it still aligns with your goals, matters.

At Seymour Financial, we help clients understand their workplace and private pension options and whether any changes may be appropriate for their objectives.

When it comes to property investing… is the juice still worth the squeeze?

We’re seeing a shift right now with nearly half of UK landlords considering selling and the new Renters’ Rights Act now in force, it’s not hard to see why. Less flexibility. More regulation.

So what happens next?

For many of the clients we speak to, they’re thinking about what life and wealth look like after property.

That conversation often includes:
• Clearing debt to create breathing room
• Making the most of tax-efficient options like ISAs and pensions
• Supporting children or future generations
• Planning ahead for later life and care

Because the real question isn’t “Should I sell?” It’s “What do I want my money to do for me next?”

If you’re a landlord feeling unsure of what’s next, you’re not alone.

Comment ‘CALL’ and we’ll send you a link to book a 30-minute Call (with no obligation).

If you’re a BTL investor, do you still think it’s worth it?

Happy New Tax Year!

A fresh start.
A new set of allowances.
A full year of opportunity ahead.

Using your allowances early, planning ahead, and making intentional decisions with your money can shape how this year looks for you.

Small steps now could lead to a different outcome by next April.

So you keep hearing about tax year end… but don’t know where to start?

Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

With the tax year closing soon, there are a few key to review, BEFORE the tax year ends:

1️⃣ Understand your numbers, work out your expenditure and surplus income. Think about your yesterday, today and tomorrow buckets and what money is best deployed now.

2️⃣ Review your pension contributions, check what you’ve already paid in this tax year. If you’re a business owner or higher earner, carry forward could allow you to contribute more.

3️⃣ Consider your children’s allowances, up to £9,000 into a JISA and £3,600 into a Junior Pension each tax year.

4️⃣ Check if tapers affect you, including the Child Benefit taper from £60,000 and the 60% tax trap.

5️⃣ Speak to an adviser

If you want help getting organised before the deadline:

💬 Comment “AUDIT” and we’ll send you our free income & expenditure breakdown sheet
