Happy New Tax Year!

A fresh start.
A new set of allowances.
A full year of opportunity ahead.

Using your allowances early, planning ahead, and making intentional decisions with your money can shape how this year looks for you.

Small steps now could lead to a different outcome by next April.

So you keep hearing about tax year end… but don’t know where to start?

Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

With the tax year closing soon, there are a few key to review, BEFORE the tax year ends:

1️⃣ Understand your numbers, work out your expenditure and surplus income. Think about your yesterday, today and tomorrow buckets and what money is best deployed now.

2️⃣ Review your pension contributions, check what you’ve already paid in this tax year. If you’re a business owner or higher earner, carry forward could allow you to contribute more.

3️⃣ Consider your children’s allowances, up to £9,000 into a JISA and £3,600 into a Junior Pension each tax year.

4️⃣ Check if tapers affect you, including the Child Benefit taper from £60,000 and the 60% tax trap.

5️⃣ Speak to an adviser

If you want help getting organised before the deadline:

💬 Comment “AUDIT” and we’ll send you our free income & expenditure breakdown sheet

Your two choices say more about your financial priorities than you realise.

Do you choose the lump sum?
The security?
The income?
The freedom?
The legacy?
The tax efficiency?

There isn’t a right answer; it all depends on what matters most to you right now.

Tell me what you’d choose below 👇

If you’re running a profitable business, this year may be the time to review your plans and check if theyre still working for you.

• Is excess cash sitting in your business earning very little?
• Have you totalled your pension contributions and checked you’re using available allowances?
• Could increasing debt repayments clear liabilities faster and free future cash flow?
• Is your business covered if a key person becomes seriously ill or dies?
• Has your life cover kept pace with your business growth?
• Have you filled or topped up ISAs?
• Are you using allowances efficiently?
• Have you considered tax-efficient investments?
• Are your retirement pots on track for the lifestyle you actually want?

This is the difference between earning well… and building wealth intentionally.

Comment ‘CALL’ if you want to book a complimentary call and review your position properly.

Last week, one of our advisers, Alice, spoke at the monthly meet-up, connecting with a room full of inspiring female business owners.

She shared key foundations of financial security, covering pensions, life cover, and business protection, helping women understand how to protect both their personal finances and their businesses!💰

We received some amazing feedback from the ladies and had some great conversations and questions throughout.

After a divorce, your financial protection often needs a full reset.

It's no longer about HAVING cover, it’s about having the RIGHT type, RIGHT level and the RIGHT people named.

Your policies may have been set up years ago and might not reflect life now.

Reviewing life insurance, income protection, critical illness cover and beneficiaries is so important because they all play a role in keeping you and your children financially secure.

If you’re unsure what applies to you or what protection you need, clarity is the first step.

If you’re unsure what to do with your business finances, start by:

Taking a calm, unemotional look at the numbers.
Your income.
Your expenditure.
Your surplus.

Then look at what you’ve already built across the three buckets:
• Yesterday - Paying off things like debts –(you can’t fill a bucket with holes in it)
• Today - what supports your current lifestyle and business
• Tomorrow - what you’re building for the future

You don’t have to figure this out alone or have all the answers before you start.

Accountants, tax advisers, coaches and financial advisers exist to support you on your journey. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, they can make a huge difference to your long-term plans.

This was such a great conversation on the Actually, I Can podcast with 🎙️
