We are delighted to announce the appointment of Melanie King as Operations Director to its General Insurance division.

Melanie joined the company in 2015 as an Account Executive following 14 years experience in the insurance industry previously with Vasek Insurance and One Call Insurance before joining Cowens. Since that time, she has progressed through the company as Commercial Team Manager and then to Head of Operations 2 years ago, and will be officially appointed to the Board of Directors as the company continue to future proof the business.

She has been a member of the senior leadership team for a number of years now and has been integral to Cowens recent success. Congratulations to Robin on completing his sponsored walk throughout the month of May for Dementia UK

Robin covered 67 miles doing at least a mile each day. His original target was £250, quickly that increased to £600 and is now sitting at £778 so we hope he can reach £800.

On the 17th May 2 of our very brave Financial Planning team abseiled 30 meters down the Millers Dale Viaduct in the stunning Peak District. Both Lorna and Stef have raised over £300 for Maggie's Nottingham – Everyone’s home of Cancer care.

When a friend or family member is diagnosed with cancer, it can be tough for friends and family to support them while managing their own emotions.

That’s why Maggie’s is here for everyone facing cancer, including family, friends and carers. Whether it’s through a support group, one of our workshops or courses, or talking to one of our experts, they are there to develop the tools for people to cope – both emotionally and practically.

This May, Robin is walking 31 Miles and raising funds to help ensure no family faces dementia alone. He is taking on the challenge for Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity, and would be grateful for your support.

At Cowens we are very proud to support our local community and charities.

Recently our Fantastic Four attended a charity golf event at The Ramsdale Golf Club where £4000 was raised for Maggies - Everyone’s home of cancer care. This will help people affected by cancer, their family and their friends.

As well as this being an amazing achievement it brought together colleagues from Financial Planning, Mortgage Solutions and Commercial Insurance – and no one was hit by a golf ball so we can only assume that everyone got on well!
