Is a limited company director personally liable for business debts?
Generally, no. A limited company is a separate legal entity, so its debts belong to the company. The main exceptions are where a director has signed a personal guarantee, or is found to have acted wrongfully, for example through wrongful trading or misfeasance.

A limited company is classed as its own entity, and not an extension of its directors, therefore any debts belong to the company and not to any individual.
