Did you know that BLACK FRIDAY originated in USA? It is the Friday after Thanksgiving, and Thanksgiving is always the 4th Thursday in November. This year Thanksgiving is Thursday 28th November and BLACK FRIDAY is 29th November.

Some claim it was first termed BLACK FRIDAY in the 1950s by employers who noticed that staff absences were always huge after Thanksgiving. I'm assuming there were a lot of hangovers due to Thanksgiving!

American police are also said to have used the expression BLACK FRIDAY to describe the amount of traffic on the road on the day after Thanksgiving. Apparently it was the popular day to start Christmas shopping.

BLACK FRIDAY as a shopping day with extra sales offers started to gather momentum in USA in 1970s and 1980s but didn't really get recognised in UK until 2000s. (Previously BLACK FRIDAY in UK was the Friday before Christmas due to the large numbers of people going to Accident & Emergency!!)

HOW WE WORK....

New customers often ask the question how do our loans work and when can I get another loan.

Our first loan is always £100.

Our loans run for 6 months and we only allow one loan per person. We need to see 5 months of regular payments before we can discuss another loan. But we prefer to see the loan paid off. And all our loans are subject to affordability checks as we don't want the repayments to be uncomfortable.

Ideally what we want is to be there in the background in case something crops up be it good or bad. Good might be a holiday 😎 and bad might be a broken cooker 😞.

You will be assigned an agent who you can message at any time and they will be able to answer all your questions.

When do you start your Christmas shopping? Apparently there are only 46 days till the big day!! 😮 I'm terrible for leaving it till the last minute. Once, in my early twenties, I did all my christmas shopping in a service station on M6....on Christmas Day morning!! 🤦‍♂️🤣 I'm determined to be better prepared this year......

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO NOW LOCKDOWN IS EASING?

One of our customers walked the Preston Guild Wheel on Monday. It's a circular route around Preston and is 21 miles long! I bet her feet were sore afterwards! 👣😟

But it's a very impressive achievement!!

It got me thinking I need a target and something to aim for. 🤔

As we're slowly coming out of Lockdown, HAVE YOU DONE ANYTHING RECENTLY THAT YOU HAVEN'T DONE IN AGES?

I played golf on Saturday morning with some friends. We had great fun but my golf was AWFUL!!! I could hardly hit the ball and when I did it went in the trees, or the water or the bunker!!

I hope it's better next time or the clubs are going in the lake!! 🤣🏌️🤬🤣⛳️

My friend has already put up her Christmas tree and decorations. She always puts them up after Bonfire Night!!

Is this too early? When do you put up yours? I do mine at the beginning of December?
