The National Minimum Wage has officially gone up today, 1 April 2026!

New hourly rates from today:
• 21 and over: £12.71
• 18–20 year olds: £10.85
• 16–17 year olds & apprentices: £8.00

This is a welcome boost for so many people working hard every day.

On the flip side, it will increase employment costs for businesses at a time when many employers are already struggling with rising expenses and tough economic conditions.

If you’re an employee, check your latest payslip to make sure it’s been updated. If you’re a business owner or manager, double-check your payroll so everyone gets what they’re owed – and stay compliant!

We are a payroll bureau based in Glossop looking after several hundred clients, and we are looking to recruit a payroll administrator to start as soon as possible.
We are experiencing a period of rapid growth as a result of our dynamic marketing and sales activities and we are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team.
The candidate
This is a great opportunity for an organised, hardworking, and ambitious individual to join us on our continued growth plan. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. Strong administration skills are essential. Current technical knowledge of legislation and the payroll sector would be advantageous, however, if you are willing to work hard and learn, we will support the right candidate to gain qualifications. The right attitude and excellent customer service skills are just as important as payroll knowledge.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Managing end to end payrolls across multiple companies
• Ensuring all payrolls across the company are processed on time by managing a portfolio of customer accounts end to end and working with other team members
• Ensuring all BACS clients staff and PAYE payments are processed on time
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and payroll tax obligations
• Keeping up to date with payroll legislation
• Ensure that all customer enquiries are answered promptly
• Informing clients of new legislation
• Continuous process improvements
• Managing general office administration
• Attending occasional marketing events with the rest of the team
• Managing pensions accounts
• Ad hoc duties
Requirements include:
• Payroll experience desirable, but good admin background essential.
• A keen eye for detail
• Must be organised and good at managing workload and working to deadlines
• Excellent communication skills
• An analytical mind and good math skills
• Excellent team player
• Must be able to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
• CIPP qualification is desirable

We are a payroll bureau based in Glossop looking after several hundred clients, and we are looking to recruit a Payroll Administrator or a trainee Payroll Administrator to join our team from June.

We are experiencing a period of rapid growth as a result of our dynamic marketing and sales activities and our enthusiastic young payroll team are needing an additional member.
It is a fast-paced working environment working with a friendly team made up of another 5 people.

The role is a hybrid position of 3 days in our Glossop Office and 2 days working from home (equipment will be provided). Further working from home is available as experience is gained.

The Candidate

This is a great opportunity for either an experienced, forward thinking payroll administrator or someone looking for a career change, who wants to learn and potentially progress, to join a growing and exciting company. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to details, good customer service skills, strong technology skills and be open to embracing new and changing ways of working. Current technical knowledge of legislation and the payroll sector is desirable, but we are looking for the right candidate who wants to come in and grow with the company.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Payroll processing from start to finish, including entering starters, processing leavers, processing pay runs, managing auto enrolment, etc.
• Ensuring client portfolio is processed accurately and ontime
• Ensuring all BACS clients staff and PAYE payments are processed on time.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and payroll tax obligations
• Keeping up to date with payroll legislation.
