Accountants vs Salespeople – Portfolio FDs need to be both

There are vast amounts written about personality types.

Students are shown endless apps where they input information about themselves and are given career recommendations.

There don’t tend to be many overlaps between accountants and salespeople on them.

I know as an accountant that salespeople always seemed like a different breed to me.

But having spent several years selling myself I know how they aren’t actually that different.

They just have a different attitudes and skill sets.

I have found that as an accountant I can be a salesperson too.

It’s nothing to be afraid of.
