MPI and MPPI are not the same thing... and this trips up ALOT of CeMAP 3 students.

They sound almost identical on paper, but they protect completely different things, and mixing them up in the exam room is an easy way to lose marks.

MPI (Mortgage Protection Insurance) - usually a decreasing term life policy that pays off the outstanding mortgage if you die during the term.

MPPI (Mortgage Payment Protection Insurance) - covers your mortgage repayments if you can't work due to accident, sickness or unemployment, usually for a set period.

Remember: MPI is protection if you die. MPPI is protection if you can't work.

I know this because I sat in the exam room making the exact same mix up.

It's a tiny distinction on the surface but it's exactly the kind of thing CeMAP loves to test you on with near identical answer options.

3 things people took away from my Social Media, AI workshop, and why you need to hear them too.

One, you don't need to be everywhere; pick one platform and be consistent.

Two, AI isn't there to replace your voice; it's there to save you the two hours staring at a blank caption box (trust me, I've lost evenings to that box).

Three, your existing clients are your best source of content; the questions they ask you are the posts your future clients are searching for.

You've got a career ladder in front of you in the finance and advise sector...

CeMAP gets you qualified as a mortgage adviser, standing on its own, it's a full career.

DipFA is the next step if you want more: pensions, investments, protection, broader financial planning.

I always tell my students, you don't need DipFA to succeed with CeMAP; you need it if you want to go further for your client bank when it's built.

One qualification opens a career. The other expands it.

My 'Life after CeMAP' podcast is a great listen when thinking about those next steps... and even better, my podcasts are FREE and full of value on multiple topics...
