🇪🇬 Pearl’s Egyptian Family Adventure: Highlights from 2 Weeks in Sharm El Sheikh!

I am officially back after an amazing two weeks in Egypt with my two children, my cousin, and her family! It was an unforgettable trip, and after a fortnight of navigating the vibrant local markets, I can officially declare myself a pro haggler. If Egypt is on your family’s bucket list, I’m bursting with fresh, firsthand recommendations. Here is my quick guide to Sharm El Sheikh!

🏨 Where We Stayed: Aurora Oriental Resort, Nabq Bay
We spent our two weeks at the Aurora Oriental. If you are looking for fantastic service and a great location, this spot has so much to offer families.

The Pros: The staff are incredible and go above and beyond. The FOOD was AMAZING. There are 3 large swimming pools and it’s just a short walk to a beautiful private beach.

The Cons (Honest Review): The rooms are a bit tired and need a revamp, and the animation team wasn’t quite up to scratch.

The Location: Perfect! There is a Metro supermarket right next door (dirt cheap for essentials), tons of shops, bars, and a karaoke venue across the road, and a McDonald's just 5 minutes up the road—because who doesn't love a holiday Maccies?

🐠 The Ultimate Holiday Highlight: Snorkelling the Red Sea
The absolute best part of the trip was our family boat tour. My kids tried snorkelling for the very first time in the crystal-clear Red Sea—I was so proud of how brave they were! We had a fabulous crew, and to top it all off, we got to see a pod of dolphins swimming alongside us on the way back. It was pure magic.

If you are planning an itinerary, do not miss these:

Quad Safari & Bedouin Dinner: An amazing desert adventure and a beautiful dinner under the stars.

Tiran Island or White Island Boat Trip: Stunning waters and incredible marine life.

Pickalbatros Aqua Park: A must-visit for a thrilling, splash-filled day out with the kids.

🏙️ Must-Visit Spots & Pearl's Golden Rule

Soho Square: Great for the family! Features the Dancing Fountains, an ice bar, an ice rink, and plenty of restaurants.

Naama Bay: Pure hustle and bustle. This is where you need those haggling skills (or head to the fixed-price shops if you prefer no bartering!).

Old Market: A wonderful dose of culture. Visit the stunning mosque and enjoy the shopping. We had a gorgeous meal at a local seafood restaurant here!

⏰ Pearl’s Golden Tip: Head to these hotspots early, around 6:00 PM. Once 7:00 PM hits, these places get absolutely heaving. Going early means beating the crowds and grabbing the best dinner tables!
