What began as a chance to share a personal story became an evening Emily will never forget.

Thanks to influencers Sasha and Milly, supported by the incredibly generous Boots team, 22 people were invited to experience Ariana Grande’s closing night at The O2 from a private box.

For Emily, those 22 places carried a powerful meaning. After sharing her connection to the Manchester Arena Attack, the significance of the number 22, and her journey as an Ariana fan, she was incredibly grateful to be chosen for such a special experience. From attending Ariana’s concert as a young girl to growing up with her music through different chapters of life, being there for the closing night felt like a truly full-circle moment.

The evening was unforgettable — not only because of the performance, but because of the kindness, care and generosity shown by everyone involved. A huge thank you to the Boots team, Sasha and Milly, and the wonderful group brought together that night for making Emily feel so welcomed, comfortable and supported. It was more than a concert. It was a chance to make new friendships, honour meaningful memories and create moments that will last a lifetime.

From Manchester to The O2, it was an emotional, unforgettable night that meant the world.

💡 DID YOU KNOW?

Your State Pension won’t automatically start when you reach State Pension age.

You’ll usually receive a letter from the government around two months before you reach State Pension age, explaining how to claim.

You don’t have to claim it straight away either. If you choose to delay taking your State Pension, you could receive higher payments when you do eventually claim.

It’s a small detail, but an important one to be aware of as you approach retirement.

💡 MINI MONEY TIP

Changed jobs? Don’t lose track of your pension.

When you move from one employer to another, it can be easy to forget about the workplace pension you leave behind.

Keep a record of the provider, your policy or reference number and any relevant paperwork. It could save you a lot of searching further down the line.

And remember, changing jobs doesn’t mean your old pension disappears. It’s still your money and still part of your retirement planning.

A little organisation now can make life much easier later.

💬 JARGON BUSTER: Gilt

No, we’re not talking about something covered in gold…

A gilt is essentially an IOU from the UK Government.

When the Government needs to borrow money, it can issue gilts. Investors lend money to the Government and, in return, receive interest, with the original amount due to be repaid when the gilt reaches the end of its term.

You may hear gilts mentioned when people talk about government borrowing, interest rates or the wider economy.

So, next time you hear ‘gilt yields’ on the news, you’ll know where they come from!

Money worries aren't always just about money.

Financial pressure can affect our sleep, our relationships, our confidence and our mental wellbeing. When things begin to feel overwhelming, it can also become harder to face them, and avoiding the problem can make that sense of worry grow.

If you're struggling financially, you don't have to solve everything at once. Understanding where you are, focusing on one priority at a time and, most importantly, talking to someone can be a valuable first step.

Whether that's a friend or family member, a financial adviser, a debt advice charity or a mental health professional, asking for support is never something to be ashamed of.

And if you're worried about someone else, starting a conversation and simply letting them know you're there can matter more than you realise.

This World Su***de Prevention Day, we're reminding everyone that no problem has to be faced alone. 💛

If you or someone you know is struggling, Samaritans are available 24 hours a day on 116 123.

From April 2027, the way pensions are treated for Inheritance Tax purposes is set to change.

Most unused pension funds and pension death benefits will be included when calculating the value of an estate for Inheritance Tax. This means some estates that currently fall below the threshold could find themselves facing an IHT liability, while others could see an existing bill increase.

The changes could be particularly relevant for people with larger pension pots, valuable property, or those who have deliberately preserved their pension to pass wealth on to future generations.

There is still time to prepare. Understanding the value of your estate, including your pensions, savings, investments and property, can help you see whether the changes could affect your existing plans.

The important thing is not to make rushed decisions, but to make sure your retirement and estate planning still reflects what you want to achieve.

And just like that, the ‘ber’ months are here! 🍂

September always feels like a bit of a reset. Summer is coming to an end, routines are returning and suddenly the end of the year doesn’t feel quite so far away.

It can also be a good time to check in on the plans you made at the beginning of the year.

Perhaps you wanted to save more, get on top of your finances, start planning for a big life event or simply feel a little more organised with your money.

Whatever your goals looked like back in January, there are still four months of the year left to make progress.

And if your plans have changed along the way? That’s okay too. A good financial plan should change as life does.

Here’s to a positive final four months of 2026. 🍂

🧠 Jargon Buster: Unit Trust Feeder

It might sound technical, but the idea is actually quite simple.

A Unit Trust Feeder is an investment that can automatically move money into your ISA each tax year, making use of your annual ISA allowance without you having to remember to do it yourself.

Why is that helpful?

📈 It can help you make the most of your ISA allowance each year.
⏱️ It keeps your investments working efficiently with less administration.
📅 It can make investing feel simpler by automating part of the process.

It's just one example of how financial planning can help make the most of the allowances available to you.

As always, the right approach will depend on your individual circumstances, but understanding the jargon is a great place to start.

When people hear the words financial planning, they often think it's all about pounds and pence.

In reality, it's about something much bigger.

It's about having the freedom to make life's important decisions with confidence.

Whether that's buying your first home, starting a family, changing careers, travelling more or retiring on your own terms, a financial plan is there to support the life you want to live.

Because the real value of financial planning isn't measured by the numbers alone – it's measured by the opportunities it creates.
