👉GOOD NEWS - BASE RATE CHANGE! 👈👍

Boost for buyers as interest rates are cut to 4.5%

The Bank of England delivered a boost for the property market yesterday after cutting interest rates to their lowest point since June 2023.

The cost of borrowing was cut from 4.75% to 4.5%.

Bank of England Governor said the Monetary Policy Committee will consider cutting rates again but he was cautious on the UK’s economic growth.

Staircasing -

Do you live in a Shared Ownership property? Are you looking to increase your share but unsure how to do so?

This can be done by what is known as 'Staircasing'. This is where the purchaser increases their share during their time in the property. In the majority of cases staircasing is allowable up to 100%. In this instance the owner wouldn't be liable to pay rent as their would no longer be a 3rd party interest from any Housing Association & the house would become their own.
