Rates in the market change all the time, but my client’s mortgage was secured today at the rate we reserved three months ago 🙌

When these two first got in touch they had no idea where to start, and they came to me months before they’d even looked at a house.

Yes, genuinely, that's the answer!

Banks aren't shopping the whole market for you, they're only ever showing you what's on their own shelf, and there's no guarantee it's the right fit for you and that's not me being dramatic, it's literally how it works.

If you've only ever spoken to your own bank, it's worth finding out what else is actually out there before you commit to anything. Screenshot whatever they've offered you and send it my way, let's find out together if it's really their best shot (pretty sure it won't be ;))

New month and a new plan!

If your Rightmove history looks more like a stalking case file than casual browsing, I get it, I love my own house and I still have a little scroll most nights, purely for the drama of other people's kitchen extensions 😆

Genuinely, I love this job the same way I love a good Pilates class, slightly unhinged levels of enthusiasm included 😆

Numbers on a mortgage offer never tell you the full story.

They don't show you the street where you'll wave at the same neighbour every morning for the next twenty years, or the walk to the shop that becomes so familiar you could do it with your eyes closed.

That's the bit I actually care about getting right, finding you the right mortgage for what will still feel like the right choice two decades from now, not just something that fits the numbers today.

Sunday night behind the scenes: him passed out on the sofa, me still scrolling through WhatsApp with one eye on the telly 😆

This is genuinely what most of my evenings look like, not because I don't know how to switch off, but because if someone's finally found five minutes to ask me a mortgage question after a mad week, I want them to feel like they actually can.

Saturday morning walk along St Annes beach, and a proper reminder of what actually makes me feel rich.

It was never going to be about the money side of this job. It's being handed someone's biggest decision and trusted to get it right for them, and that's something I never take lightly, whatever day of the week it is 🩷

Every application I work on starts as numbers on a screen, but that's never really what it's about.

It's the garden where birthday parties will happen, the kitchen where homework gets done at the table, the bedroom that gets painted exactly the colour they picked themselves and I don't lose sight of that while I'm buried in paperwork, and it's exactly why I fight as hard as I do to get people into the right house, not just any house.
