We hold regular tournaments and host sneak peak events. Unity Gamings first event was set up by Micky Erkins as a stand alone charity event for Yu-Gi-Oh! in the library charging Β£2 per person with mainstream and people with learning difficulties attending. There was so much interest and good feedback that a tournament was put on ever 4 weeks with all the profit going to Lowestoft and District Menc
ap. With time passing the positive feedback and great turn out we decided to hold a tournament every 2 weeks. These small events turned into East Coast Gaming. When Lowestoft and District Mencap moved to what is now The Unity Centre, East Coast Gaming turned into Unity Gaming. Upon acquiring the new premises we were able to start selling booster packs and other things. As time went on we slowly built up our stock list and managed to stock a wide range of Yu-Gi-Oh! and PokΓ©mon products. In the short year we have been established we have become an internationally registered Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournament holder, hosting weekly tournaments, classes for new and existing players to learn or help with playing and understanding the game, computers with internet access and games consoles for anyone aged 9 and over. Unity Gaming operates within The Unity Centre by 3 volunteers on the weekends and in their spare time, Josh Beaven a level 1 judge in Yu-Gi-Oh! Ben Hollingworth, Vice-Chairperson of Lowestoft and District Mencap and Kristian Saye. Through hard work and dedication we have found that Unity Gaming is a safe, fun way for mainstream people to mix with Lowestoft and District Mencap's members.
