🏠LANDLORDS: HAS ANYTHING CHANGED AT YOUR RENTAL PROPERTY?
Insurance isn’t just something to check at renewal. Changes during the year can affect your cover, so keep your broker informed.
Here are a few examples of when to contact us:
🔑 Different letting arrangements
For example, letting to students, a company or through a council placement.
👥 Moving to a house in multiple occupation (HMO)
Letting rooms separately or changing how the property is occupied.
🧳 Introducing holiday or short-term lets
Including advertising on platforms such as Airbnb, even for only part of the year.
🏢 Business activities at the property
Particularly where tenants receive customers, store stock or use business equipment. Ordinary home working may be treated differently, so ask if you’re unsure.
🚪 The property becomes empty
Whether between tenants, during refurbishment or while awaiting sale. Cover restrictions and requirements for inspections, heating or water supplies may apply.
🔨 Building work or alterations
Let us know before renovations, extensions or structural work begin.
Every policy is different. Failing to notify an insurer of a relevant change could affect your cover or a future claim.
📩 If you’re planning a change, or unsure whether something needs reporting, contact the Insurelink team so we can check your policy and advise.
