The Autumn Budget will take place on 28 October – the first under Prime Minister Andy Burnham and the first to be delivered by Chancellor John Healey.
As always, there is plenty of speculation about what might be announced, but we always prefer to wait until Budget day, when the details are confirmed.
Whilst we wait, there are several important financial changes already scheduled to come into effect in April 2027 that are worth reviewing. These include changes to how unused pensions are treated for Inheritance Tax, higher tax rates on savings and property income, a reduced Cash ISA limit for under-65s and frozen Income Tax thresholds.
These changes will affect people differently, but it is sensible to review your pensions, savings, investments and estate-planning arrangements before these changes come into effect.
