Micro loans are the most powerful poverty alleviation tool on the planet.

They helped this woman living on the brink of extreme poverty (with only a bucket of potatoes to her name) by giving her the capital she needed to build a small grocery store and sell fresh fruits and vegetables to her village.

If you're living in Uganda on $3 USD/day, you're constantly hungry, suffering from malnutrition, unable to pay for medical bills or send your kids to school. But after her loan, her business flourished and now she's happy and able to provide for her family.
