Next weekend, Park Royal Design District is launching the inaugural edition of Manufactory - a new interdisciplinary art festival.

Taking place across Park Royal on the 11th and 12th September, the programme includes performances, workshops and exhibitions. Occupying warehouses, studios and industrial buildings that are rarely accessible to the public, Manufactory will bring together contemporary artists, performers, designers, musicians, architects, manufacturers and makers within London's largest industrial district.

One of the organisations funded by the 2025/26 Small Grants Scheme was The Sortie Project CIC. They worked on the Tunnels Improvement Project (TIP) which asked local people to share stories of the area through photography, craft and design to inform the look of the tunnels connecting to East Acton and Old Oak wards.

A consultation is currently open, to provide an opportunity for everyone to comment on this emerging plan.

🌸 As part of their Canalside Flora community arts project, Canal & River Trust ran two botanical printmaking sessions on their floating classroom.

Participants took part in a nature walk before using flowers and plants from the canalside to create prints. The plan is to display the prints, from a series of workshops, alongside excerpts of creative writing along a pathway connecting Willen Field Road and the Grand Union Canal in Park Royal.

⏪ Weekend recap!

North Acton Square hosted Standard Road makers' market, the Absolute Beginners community lunch, and special performances from UFO and Muraldo DC.

So great to see the square buzzing and bringing new and returning faces to the area.

These activities form part of the Mayor of London initiative, which we have been working closely with Park Royal Design District, Ealing Council and The Republic Community Project to deliver.

At our Small Grants celebration event we caught up with Imran, who is one of the mentors on the Degrees of Opportunity programme at RollaDome All Skate.

He spoke to us about how RollaDome All Skate helped him to find work after graduating and the impact their youth group has had on him.

RollaDome All Skate was one of the 19 projects that received funding through the Small Grants Scheme.
