The typical quarterly AI spend among small businesses buying AI almost doubled in our data, from £33.07 in Q1 2023 to £60.00 in Q1 2026. 📈

The price of each purchase barely moved over the study period, from £16.65 to £18.10. That suggests businesses are using AI in more places, not paying more for the same thing.

AI spend is changing how UK businesses buy services. 🤖

Our card data, published in City AM Business Spend Pulse, shows just 4.2% of firms paid for consultants or PR in September. Over the same period, the share spending on AI tools rose from 8% to more than 1 in 7.
