π‘β¨ Weekly Headway Update β¨π‘
We're incredibly excited to share that we've officially received planning permission for a 9-bed care home that will be operated by a specialist provider supporting young women in need. β€οΈ
This has been a long journey that began back in 2024, when we purchased the property, a former pub with a 4-bed HMO above, with the vision of bringing it back into meaningful use.
Our original proposal was to convert the building into a 10-bed HMO, but the application was refused. One of the key planning requirements was to demonstrate that the building was no longer viable as a public house.
Over the following six months, the property was actively marketed as a pub. With no interest from potential operators, it became clear that its future lay elsewhere.
Armed with everything we had learned, we developed a new proposal, this time for a 9-bed care home, and we're delighted that planning permission has now been granted.
For us, this project has become about much more than bricks and mortar. High-quality supported accommodation is desperately needed in communities across the UK, and we're proud to play a small part in creating a safe, welcoming environment where young women can receive the care and support they need to rebuild their lives.
It's incredibly rewarding to see a long-vacant building transformed into something that will make a genuine difference to both the people living there and the wider local community.
We're looking forward to sharing the next chapter as work begins on site.
