On 20 August, Ox Alpha appeared anonymously and immediately caught developers’ attention.

In reported coding tests: 80% vs Claude Fable 5 at 65% and GPT-5.6 Sol at 52%, while using roughly 3× fewer output tokens in one bug-fixing comparison.

Days later, Chinese AI company Z.ai revealed Ox Alpha was its stealth GLM-5.3-Flash model.

We were already on it.

But the bigger play is not any single model.
