Last night at our end-of-year reception, OBL CEO Henk Van Hulle revealed the latest open banking milestone - 8+ million open banking users. He also thanked the open banking ecosystem and stakeholders whose hard work made this milestone possible.

City Minister .afolami.mp said: “Without open banking, fintech businesses wouldn't be as effective. So this stuff really matters. And the reason why it matters is not just the technological underpinning, although that's key. It matters because that is the way in which we are better than our competitors in this country, because we are more forward-thinking from a regulatory, legislative, and industry perspective.

And everybody in this room should be very proud of the part that they have played in that.”

It's clear that there continues to be strong collaboration and appetite to build on existing successes.

We also saw the publication of two JROC data collection frameworks, the product of expert input from across the ecosystem. We look forward to seeing participants use these frameworks to improve customer experience of open banking.”
