**The Government has announced a 3 month payment holiday for mortgages - you will STILL need to contact your lender to discuss and arrange this, ask them directly how it effects your credit profile and make a note of the date, time and name of the person you’re talking to. Please do not assume you can simply stop the direct debt on your mortgage**
We ve had several calls from worried clients about their situation and not being able to pay the mortgage. Its not free, if you get a holiday the interest will be added to the mortgage and increase monthly payments . Whatever you do dont cancel your direct debits, make sure you get any changes agreed by the bank, and not your mate. You need to make sure these dont impact on your credit history.
