Fascinating insights from Waheed Aslam, Global Head of Marketing & Business Development - Asset Management & Investment Funds, Simmons & Simmons, Member of Diversity & Inclusion Implementation Working Group, England Rugby, during our recent webinar on ‘Why Diversity Matters in the World of Finance.’

“D&I is not just a box-ticking exercise. Diversity is a fact of life. Inclusion is the way an organisation responds to that reality. It’s about respect for ourselves and each other. Increasingly, especially after COVID, D&I is seen as an essential part of an organisations’ DNA as it seeks to improve its pandemic resilience. A properly executed D&I policy helps to align an organisation's own values with those of its employees, its customers and its wider stakeholder group. Done properly it can improve staff and customer loyalty and so enhance brand and competitive performance. There are many good initiatives out there benefiting from an intersectional approach which a few years ago would not have registered, but it is amazing what can be achieved when people focus minds and resources.”

Truly honoured to have Daniel Seymour, Strategic Partnerships Director, UN Women, join our webinar on ‘Why Diversity Matters in the World of Finance.’

“Gender equality is a business and human imperative. It cuts across all aspects of what businesses do. It is not just about human resources. It is also about the way businesses procure, market, communicate, measure impact and more. Achieving change depends on clear accountability and public commitments to do things intentionally to end inequality and discrimination. We can learn a lot from each other and challenge each other to do more. We should never miss the opportunity to leverage partnership to work together to do better collectively on this shared agenda.”

Great insights from Martina Macpherson, Head of ESG Strategy and Member of the General Management Committee, ODDO BHF during our webinar on ‘Why Diversity Matters in the World of Finance.’

“Diversity and inclusion matter – they are material criteria to assess corporate human capital management policies, practices and reporting. The ESG investment agenda is moving from E to E+S and in a socio-economic context these social considerations are becoming key differentiators for establishing better resilience in the COVID-19 context, and for managing a Just Transition in the long-term.”

Real honour to have Neelu Agarwal, First Diversity and Inclusion lead at PRA, Bank of England, join our webinar yesterday on ‘Why Diversity Matters in the World of Finance.’

“We need to bridge mindset barriers and provide support to women to meet our gender representation goals. Lessons through my own journey are that women must not confuse lack of familiarity with lack of calibre, and lack of capacity due to childcare constraints with lack of capability. If you look at yourself through the lens of the impact you make rather than the no. of hours you put in, you can win opportunities, so go for it!.” ~ Neelu Agarwal
