The 2024 Remittance Fair, hosted by the Bangladesh High Commission in London, was honored by the presence of Mr. Shofiqur Rahman Choudhury MP, Minister of State for Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, as the Chief Guest. H.E. Ms. Saida Muna Tasneem, Bangladesh High Commissioner to the UK, Ireland, and Liberia, alongside community leaders, local businessmen, leading Money Transfer Operators (MTOs), and the local media, graced the occasion. During the discussions at the event focused on strategies to boost remittance through formal channels we proposed for regular awareness-building events, ongoing incentive packages, and collaboration with law enforcement in Bangladesh to curb illegal remittance activities. Our ongoing complimentary Meet & Greet service caught the attention of the Minister who hinted at potential government support. The Bangladesh High Commission in London deserves praise for organising the event and executing flawlessly led by Mr. Tanvir Md Azim, the Commercial Counsellor of the BHC.
