ONE BOTTLE OF WH**KY. $2.8 MILLION. 🥃

Yes, you read that correctly.

A rare bottle of The Macallan 1926 Fine & Rare has just sold for an incredible $2.81 million at Sotheby’s, becoming the most expensive bottle of wh**ky ever sold in US dollar terms.

But what makes a single bottle worth that much?

Distilled in 1926 and matured for 60 years, the wh**ky came from a single cask that produced just 40 bottles. Only 14 originally carried the Fine & Rare label.

Age. Scarcity. Provenance. Distillery reputation.

These are some of the factors that can make certain whiskies incredibly desirable to collectors.

And while this is an exceptional example from the world of rare Scotch wh**ky, it highlights something we regularly discuss at Cap Group:
