A Prayer to Saint Monica for Perseverance, Wayward Children, and Unanswered Prayers
Saint Monica, faithful mother and tireless intercessor,
you who wept, waited, and prayed when answers did not come quickly,
I come to you with the burdens I carry in my heart.
You know what it is to love deeply
and to entrust that love to God when all seems uncertain.
You know the ache of watching someone you love struggle, wander, or resist grace.
Saint Monica, pray for me now.
Pray for the intentions I have carried for a long time.
Pray for the prayers that feel unheard,
for the loved ones who seem far from God,
and for the patience I need when hope feels stretched thin.
Teach me how to remain faithful without growing bitter.
Teach me how to trust God’s timing without losing heart.
Help me surrender what I cannot control
and place it fully into God’s hands.
May my prayers, like yours, be persistent but humble.
May my love be firm but rooted in grace.
May I never stop believing that God is working,
even when I cannot see it.
Saint Monica, companion of waiting hearts,
walk with me in this season,
and intercede for the healing, conversion, and peace I seek.
