In his latest column for Professional Adviser, our CEO, Roger Brosch, explores why the path to financial advice isn't necessarily narrow, and why that matters for the future of the profession.

Roger challenges the idea that a career in financial advice must follow a single, linear route. Instead, he argues that the industry stands to gain by welcoming people with a wider range of backgrounds, experiences and at different stages of life.

As the industry continues to face talent and succession challenges, Roger highlights why he thinks flexibility, inclusivity and long-term career appeal will be key to building a more resilient profession.

Foster Denovo’s COO, Helen Lovett, took part in the panel at Corporate Adviser’s Master Trust and GPP Conference , where AI was firmly in the spotlight.

Industry leaders explored how AI could transform the way guidance and advice are delivered across pensions and workplace savings.

The discussion highlighted the potential of AI to increase access to affordable guidance and help providers to scale support more effectively. At the same time, they emphasised the need for strong safeguards and responsible use.

Helen shared her experience of launching MyAdvicePlace, a digital advice solution that is already available in the market. She explained that one of the biggest benefits of AI is its ability to reduce administrative costs, making face-to-face advice more affordable and accessible, particularly in the workplace through employer-supported solutions.
