Investing is not saving or trading and they can be easily confused!
𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 is about getting your money to work for you by buying and
holding assets. Assets create wealth for you in the long term, independently
of the time you put in. This could be by providing an income or increasing in
value or both. Investing is not a quick fix, it’s for the long term, at least 5 or 10
years, or more.
𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 is putting aside cash in a safe and accessible place with the
intention of spending it later. It is important to have some savings before
you start to invest
𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 involves buying and selling of assets in the short term. It’s
technical, takes time to learn and do, and you really have to know what
you’re doing. Even if you do know (or think you do) there is no guarantee
you will get a better return than investing. It is also, for most, an
emotional roller coaster!
