We’re absolutely delighted to announce that Treethorpe has once again been awarded ‘We invest in people’ Gold accreditation by Investors in People — a recognition that means as much to us today as it did the first time we received it.

Gold accreditation isn’t simply about having the right policies in place. It means that everyone across the team, from the most senior roles to those just starting out, takes genuine ownership in bringing those values to life, every single day. That’s something we’re enormously proud of.

This achievement places us among just 28% of assessed organisations to reach Gold standard — a reflection not of any single individual, but of the collective commitment that runs through everything we do here at Treethorpe.

We believe that the work we do demands care, precision, and above all, a team that is invested in one another as well as in the people we serve. This accreditation affirms that we’re living those values, not just stating them.

The assessment process is also a valuable opportunity to listen and to learn. We’re grateful for the feedback we received, and we’ll be using it to continue improving how we work together and how we support the people who rely on us.

Thank you to the team at Treethorpe — this is your achievement.

Sometimes life brings the most unexpected and emotional moments.

Recently, we were researching a family for a gentleman who sadly passed away with no known relatives. During our search, we were able to locate family members and, in doing so, helped reconnect two brothers who had been separated for 55 years.

One of the brothers shared with us that they have now spoken for the first time in decades and spent over three hours on the phone together. After the call, he said he was overwhelmed with emotion, realising they had finally found each other after so many years apart. They are now looking forward to meeting in person with their families in the coming weeks.

Messages like this remind us why this work matters so much. Helping families reconnect, even in the most unexpected circumstances, is something we feel truly grateful to be part of.

Thank you for trusting us to help bring families back together.

Your digital life is now legally inheritable.

Since December 2025, cryptocurrency, NFTs, digital photographs and online assets are formally recognised as property under English law — meaning they can be traced, claimed and passed on to heirs.

The Property (Digital Assets etc) Act 2025 is a significant shift, and one that directly impacts how modern estates are administered.

We've written up what it means and how it affects our work at Treethorpe. Read the full article here: https://treethorpe.com/digital-legacy-is-now-inheritable/

That’s a wrap for 2025! As the year comes to a close, our team will be packing away our tools, closing our laptops, and taking a well-earned break to recharge with family and friends.

We’ll be closed for the festive season from 2pm on Wednesday 24th December, and will reopen refreshed and ready at 9am on Friday 2nd January 2026.

During this time, our inboxes will be taking a short holiday too, but rest assured we’ll respond to all messages as soon as we’re back.

We wish you and your loved ones a joyful holiday season filled with warmth, laughter, and special moments. We look forward to connecting again in the new year.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

World Adoption Day may be over, but the stories of love, identity, and connection it celebrates are timeless.

Every family has a story, and for adoptive families, those stories are often ones of incredible discovery and chosen bonds. Through genealogy, we witness how families are built in countless beautiful ways.

Let's take a moment to acknowledge:

* The strength of adoptees navigating their personal history
* The love that builds families beyond biology
* The power of genealogy to connect past and present

We'd love to hear from you: What has genealogy taught you about the many ways to define family? Share your stories or insights in the comments.

Celebrating Excellence at the CILEX National Paralegal Awards 2025:

What an inspiring evening. The energy in the room was electric as we celebrated the incredible talent within our profession.

Congratulations to our very own Gemma Greenfield for receiving a Highly Commended award — a fantastic recognition that's thoroughly well-deserved. Her dedication, hard work, and exceptional talent continue to inspire us all.

Beyond the awards, the evening highlighted the strength of our professional community. It was wonderful reconnecting with familiar faces and meeting new colleagues who share our passion for the field. Events like this remind us of the vital role paralegals play in the legal profession and the incredible talent pool we represent.

The night had a wonderful personal twist for our Rebecca McNaught as it coincided with her birthday. Thank you to The Garage Band for the unexpected and unforgettable rendition of 'Happy Birthday' — what a perfect way to end an exceptional evening.

Here's to celebrating achievements, building connections, and continuing to elevate the paralegal profession! 🎉
