Top tips

1) create advert. Include pictures or make sure you have some ready.

2) work as a team and communicate with potential swappers.Even if it’s not right for you. Just keep people in the loop rather then ignore them or keep them hanging.

3) be realistic about the type of property you are going for.( we are social housing )

4) Make sure you look out for any damp mould or obvious repairs and ask tenant if there is any. Once you move in some landlords won’t come out for the first 6-12 month unless it’s emergency repairs.

5) Enjoy the process. Take regular breaks if feeling overwhelmed/stressed. Remember all the people you speak to as you may have to go back to them in the future.
