""Last months [team] took a long look back. Tough as it is, the whole fashion industry is changing. There is a lot of inertia to go back. [team] wants none of that. Right now all production is moving to London. All clothing will be made in-house. This is a big change, but big changes must happen.
The first edit after lockdown is a mirror experience of that new landscape that is developing around us. This is the new clothing, new people and new LOFO.

The CISL Accelerator is looking for early stage start-ups and entrepreneurs with tech-driven innovations that have the potential to transform the sustainability of the fashion industry.

This programme is free to attend for successful applicants based in England and is open to early stage start-ups and entrepreneurs with innovations in sustainable fashion, particularly in the areas of:

- Material innovation and biotech – such as fibre innovation, enzymology and molecular biology
- Manufacturing and processing - supply chain transparency, blockchain technology, water and chemical use, waste reduction and energy efficiency
- Packaging and delivery - innovation in packaging materials, shipping and logistics, and waste reduction
- People centred solutions –improve health and safety for people in the garment production, consumer education on sustainable consumption, and post-consumer solutions

Deadline: Wednesday 26th August.

**DEFRA Textiles Recycling and Re-use Small Scale Grant**

The aim of this grant is to support projects that will enable textile waste materials to be recycled or re-used, diverting this waste from landfill or incineration, ensuring that it remains a valuable resource.

WRAP is looking to support projects that demonstrate a level of innovation beyond normal industry practice. This may include new technologies, equipment not tried and tested before, or interventions that help to address and overcome barriers to textile recycling or re-use.

Closing date: Monday 24th August 2020 - 1:00pm

**Funding Opportunity: Sustainable Innovation Fund**

Innovate UK has launched a new fund to help cutting-edge companies of all sizes recover, grow, and drive a re-building economy. The £191 million fund will also support new green innovations, unleashing the sustainable industries of the future along the way.

As part of UK Research and Innovation, Innovate UK is investing up to £55 million to fund single and collaborative research and development projects as part of the Sustainable Innovation Fund.

The aim of this competition is to help all sectors of the UK rebuild after the effects of COVID-19.

All projects must be led by a business and include at least one SME. Proposals can either be from a single business or a collaboration.
