This month we saw GBPs strongest week of 2026 so far, gaining 1% over USD.
But the performance didn't come from GBP strength; instead it was driven by USD weakness.
Why does this matter?
Not all FX moves are what they seem, and for finance teams, this is where decisions can go wrong:
• Assuming momentum will continue
• Delaying conversions based on misleading signals
• Missing more stable opportunities elsewhere
So, what does this mean?
The real advantage comes from understanding what’s driving the move and making decisions based on that, not just the headlines.
That’s the difference between reacting to the market and managing it.
