Due Diligence and compliance is key and at the heart of everything we do at Venturism Group.

I was recently instructed to source a property for someone who wanted to live in the property themselves and not use it as an investment under a co-sourcing agreement.

As always, it is important to do the initial compliance checks ensuring that your property partner is compliant and also the requirement to obtain the full name and contact details of the client with proof and source of funds.

Given my background in counter fraud & intelligence, the alarm bells started ringing when answers to questions were not forthcoming. Safe to say, I was promptly advised that the proposed client had now found a property.

Property investors should always be prepared to walk away from a deal if the most basic of information is not forthcoming.
