The U.S. dollar rose against almost all currencies during the day, with non-U.S. currencies generally falling at the opening, with the British pound falling 0.7 percent to 1.3307 and the euro falling 1.22 percent to 1.1130. The Australian dollar fell 0.72 percent to its lowest at 0.7162 and the New Zealand dollar fell 0.79 percent to its lowest at 0.6673. The U.S. dollar index rose above 97 again.
