Most people insure their homes, their cars and even their mobile phones.

But what about the thing that pays for all of it?

Your ability to earn an income and provide for the people who depend on you.

Life insurance and critical illness cover are often viewed as something to think about later, yet unexpected events rarely arrive at a convenient time. The right protection can help provide financial security for your family, helping to ease the financial pressure that can come with serious illness or the loss of a loved one.

The reality is that every family is different. The amount of cover you may need, the type of policy that could be suitable and the level of protection required will depend on your individual circumstances, responsibilities and future plans.

At NTM Financial Services, we help individuals and families understand the options available and build protection plans that support what matters most to them.

Because protecting your family's future is not just about what you have today. It's about helping to ensure they remain secure tomorrow.

Most people don’t mind paying the tax they owe.

What frustrates them is paying more than they need to simply because they didn’t know the options available to them.

Good tax planning is not about loopholes or risky strategies. It’s about making smarter, compliant decisions around the money you already earn, save and invest.

Whether it’s making better use of allowances, structuring investments more efficiently, planning for retirement income, or thinking ahead for future generations, small changes can often make a meaningful difference over time.

Because keeping more of what you earn is not just about numbers on a spreadsheet.
It’s about creating more flexibility, more opportunities, and more confidence in the future.

At NTM Financial Services, we believe tax planning should work alongside your wider financial goals, helping you make informed decisions with clarity and peace of mind.

Keep more of what you earn with smart, compliant tax planning.

As we sail into the Bank Holiday weekend, it’s always worth reminding ourselves how important it is to find the right balance between work and switching off.

Just over a week ago, Neil spent the evening out on the water with one of our clients, Alan Shaft, supporting him as he marshalled the Cardiff Bay Yacht Club Tuesday Night Race.

There’s something special about Tuesday evenings in the Bay, the mix of competition, community, and the unmistakable Cardiff skyline all coming together. It was a great evening and even better to catch up with Alan.

With the sunshine set to continue this Bank Holiday, hopefully everyone gets the chance to slow down a little, enjoy the weather, and take a well-earned break from work for a few days.

Blending Modern Methods with Traditional Values:
The Future of Financial Services

There’s no doubt financial services are changing.

Technology, automation and digital tools are making advice faster, more accessible and more efficient than ever before. But while the methods may evolve, we still believe the foundations of good financial advice stay the same.

Trust. Relationships. Understanding people properly.

At NTM Financial Services, we see the future of financial planning as a balance between modern tools and traditional values, using technology to enhance the client experience, not replace the human side of advice.

Our latest blog explores why that balance matters more than ever and how financial services are continuing to evolve without losing what’s most important.

Neil met former England & Lions rugby star Josh Lewsey at a business conference this week.

"It was genuinely interesting hearing Josh’s perspective on business development, resilience, leadership, teamwork and succession planning, especially how many of the lessons learned in elite sport translate directly into business and long-term planning.

One thing that really stood out was the importance of building strong teams around you, adapting under pressure and having a clear plan not just for growth, but for sustainability and succession over time.

Great conversation and plenty to take away, I look forward to working with him."

Energy Shock Tests Market Confidence...
What Investors Should Do Now

The latest disruption to global energy supply isn’t just about oil prices.
It’s feeding straight into inflation, interest rate expectations, and investor confidence.

We’re seeing the same pattern play out again:

Rising energy costs pushing inflation higher
Central banks forced into tougher decisions
Markets becoming more volatile and uncertain

But this isn’t about reacting to headlines.
It’s about understanding what sits underneath them.
Because when energy prices spike, it acts like a tax on growth, squeezing businesses, slowing economies, and shifting the investment landscape

And that’s where opportunities (and risks) start to emerge.

The key for investors right now?

Stay disciplined. Stay diversified. And don’t let short-term noise dictate long-term decisions.
Moments like this test confidence, but they also highlight the value of a clear strategy.

If you’re unsure how current market conditions might affect your plans, it’s worth taking a step back and sense-checking your approach.
