Kids go back to school next week and it’s got me thinking about how hard it actually is to find places that are child friendly when you need to get something sorted.

Half the reason people put off meetings is because they can’t find childcare 😩 so I built a play corner into the office.

5 things I’d never skip as a first time buyer 👇

Solicitor, survey, a proper credit app, a LISA if you’re eligible and someone in your corner who actually knows what they’re doing.

If your car broke down, you wouldn’t fix it yourself. Same goes for the biggest financial commitment you’ll probably ever make. Don’t leave it to chance, hire the experts and save yourself the time and stress down the line 🏠

On Friday I celebrated the business turning one with the people I work with, plus a few local brokers.

It was a good chance to catch up with people in the industry. We might look like competitors but honestly we’re mates and we want each other to do well.

Had a great catch up with these two maththom7 and saratom82 after sorting their mortgage and obviously had to have a look round the new place while I was at it.

This is the bit that never gets old. Watching people go from “is this doable” to standing in their own hallway.

If you’re at that stage right now scrolling Zoopla at 11pm, not sure what you can actually borrow, this could be you in a few months.

The number one reason people don’t apply for a mortgage... isn’t even real 🤯

Two recent clients were both convinced they had “bad credit” over a couple of grand on a credit card. No defaults, no missed payments…they just assumed the worst.

I looked at both cases properly, individually. It turned out neither had a problem at all 🔍

Both have now moved into their homes 🔑

ALC turns one today 🎉

A year ago, I left the security of a job I knew for something that terrified me running this on my own.

There’s a version of the last 12 months you’ve seen on social media. The hampers, the keys, the “congratulations” messages.

And then there’s the version you haven’t the late nights, the cases that nearly fell apart, the moments I wondered if I’d made the right call for my family.

10 years in this industry taught me the job. This past year taught me what it actually means to do it for yourself.

None of it happens without the people who backed me before I’d proven anything🤍

To every client who trusted me with something this important thank you. That trust is the whole reason ALC exists.
