🕐 A look back at our Bangor home.

As part of our centenary year, we’re continuing to reflect on the history of the firm and the moments that helped shape where we are today.

💯 Our story in Bangor began back in 1926, when Hugh E Edwards & Co was established in an office on Bangor High Street, above a shoe shop. Over the decades that followed, the practice grew, moved to Farrar Road and continued to expand through new partners, new team members and new clients.

By the mid-2000s, the team had outgrown the Farrar Road office, so a decision was made to buy a plot and develop a purpose-built office at Parc Menai. The move took place in April 2007, with the official opening held at 12:34 on 05/06/07.

📅 Today marks 19 years since the official opening of our Parc Menai office. The photo shows Keith Barker, Peter Denton, Cecil Williams and Hugh Prys Jones at the ceremonial cutting of the turf ahead of the build, as well as a newspaper cutting showing the news item from the launch.

From humble beginnings on Bangor High Street to our current office at Parc Menai, our Bangor office remains a key part of our story and our connection with the local community.

🕐 Edrych yn ôl ar ein cartref ym Mangor.

Fel rhan o flwyddyn ein canmlwyddiant, rydym yn parhau i edrych yn ôl ar hanes y cwmni a’r adegau sydd wedi helpu i’n siapio ni i fod lle rydym ni heddiw.

💯 Dechreuodd ein stori ym Mangor yn ôl ym 1926, pan sefydlwyd Hugh E Edwards & Co mewn swyddfa ar Stryd Fawr Bangor, uwchben siop esgidiau. Dros y degawdau a ddilynodd, tyfodd y practis, symudodd i Ffordd Farrar a pharhau i ehangu drwy groesawu partneriaid newydd, aelodau newydd o’r tîm a chleientiaid newydd.

Erbyn canol y 2000au, roedd y tîm wedi tyfu'n rhy fawr i swyddfa Ffordd Farrar, felly penderfynwyd prynu plot a datblygu swyddfa bwrpasol ym Mharc Menai. Symudodd y cwmni yno ym mis Ebrill 2007, gyda’r agoriad swyddogol yn cael ei gynnal am 12:34 ar 05/06/07.

📅 Mae heddiw yn nodi 19 mlynedd ers agoriad swyddogol ein swyddfa ym Mharc Menai. Yn y llun mae Keith Barker, Peter Denton, Cecil Williams a Hugh Prys Jones yn torri’r dywarchen cyn i’r gwaith adeiladu ddechrau, yn ogystal â darn o bapur newydd yn dangos yr eitem newyddion o’r lansiad.

O ddechreuadau diymhongar ar Stryd Fawr Bangor i’n swyddfa bresennol ym Mharc Menai, mae ein swyddfa ym Mangor yn parhau i fod yn rhan allweddol o’n stori a’n cysylltiad â’r gymuned leol.

Cofiwch y Dyddiad | Don’t miss the deadline

📆 The P11D deadline is approaching.

Employers must report taxable expenses and benefits provided to employees during the 2025/26 tax year to HMRC by 6 July 2026. This includes company cars, private medical cover and other benefits in kind.

By the same date, employers must also submit a P11D(b) and provide employees with the relevant information. Class 1A National Insurance is due by 22 July 2026 for electronic payments.

Keeping on top of these deadlines can help avoid unnecessary penalties and last-minute pressure.

👋 Need support with your P11D reporting? The Williams Denton team is here to help.

As part of the 100 Acts of Kindness theme for our centenary year, members of the team spent time at Snowdonia Donkeys helping to clear brambles and overgrowth in a woodland area that will be used by the charity for children’s sessions over the summer months.

🫏 The donkeys were only too happy to help too, with brambles being one of their favourite snacks!

It was wonderful to see the space begin to take shape as a more welcoming area for outdoor learning, play and exploration 💚

💯 As part of our centenary year, we’re continuing to look back at the history of Williams Denton and the people who helped shape the firm we know today.

This month, we’re reflecting on the contribution of Cecil Williams, who joined the practice in 1934 at just 16 years old. His parents paid £20 for his five-year articled training contract, and his wages were just £6 in the first year.

He studied by correspondence course and qualified in 1939, before serving in the RAF during the war, including postings to India and Burma. He later returned to help shape the future of the firm and went on to play a major role in the growth of the business over the decades that followed.

He was also the Williams in Williams Denton, making him a central figure in the firm’s story.

📸 This photo was taken at Cecil Williams’ retirement presentation on 30 September 1991.
