The met today (9 March 2026) and voted to keep at 3.75% by 9-0!

The last time there was a 9-0 vote was in 2018.

Only a few weeks ago, a cut was widely expected, but the has changed all that.

All eyes on the Gulf!

What should be doing?

Yes, in case you missed it, the Chancellor's SPRING STATEMENT was on 3 March.

You can be forgiven for missing the Spring Statement, as there was other stuff going on. It landed during an extremely tense moment internationally.

Although apart from downgrading GROWTH forecasts (again), it was a fairly short and low key affair.

As for the forecasts, the tensions in the Middle East and their impact on oil and gas prices mean that they are likely already out of date.

Investor attention is firmly fixed on events in the Gulf for the time being

In case you missed it ...

Dydd GƔyl Dewi Hapus - Happy !

So, perhaps while we are thinking about all things Welsh, we can think about the message of St David " because they all add up to bigger things.

We were talking about Richard Llewellyn's 1939 classic novel 'How Green Was My Valley' and it prompted the question 'How green are my investments?'

How are your ?

Yes, a serious question: who do you listen to?

TRUMP 2.0: I NEVER PROMISED YOU A ROSE GARDEN

Well, what a month April 2025 was! From the so-called ‘Liberation Day’ on 2 April when President Trump unleashed his plans, it has been exhausting!

How will it all play out? What is the end game? Is there one?

One thing for sure is that President Trump could repy to critics “I beg your pardon, I never promised you a rose garden” (from Rose Garden - Lynn Anderson, 1970)!

GOT YOUR CHRISTMAS DECCIES UP YET?

That’s right is earlier each year.

Christmas has been in the shops for ages and appearing on some people's rooftops!

Instead of getting in the way in our office, our is in !

Yep, it’s joining over eighty others for Chester Cathedral’s . A forest of locally sourced Christmas trees for an escape from the hustle and bustle of the period for visitors to lose themselves in the Cathedral's tree-lined winter walkways.

The Cathedral supplied the tree and we decorated it. When we say ‘we’, of course, we actually mean our friend the amazingly talented who decorated our tree again this year. What a great job!

Sponsoring events can be a bit of a chore. It’s costs time and money. But it can also be fun and sometimes just the right thing to do!

The festival is a community-driven event with local contributors and joining in demonstrates a commitment to supporting and the economy.

The Christmas Tree Festival runs from Friday 22 November 2024 until Sunday 5 January 2025. So why not head out to the awesome Chester Cathedral and see if you can find our tree?

PS It's by the fireplace
