We are very grateful to continue to be mentioned as one of the best places to see Snowdrops! We have had many visitors over the last 25 years since we began to open for Snowdrop Sundays, who have supported us with our campaign to save Bank Hall, Bretherton.

Now the hall has been restored we have since focused on phase two; the garden restoration which will be a lengthy process but will provide a safe place for all ages to learn about gardens, trees and nature. 🐝

Last year has seen improvement works to the walled garden with summer planting and new beds and borders created as part of our Potting Shed Project.🌹

The grounds team have been clearing brambles and more snowdrops have re-appeared! 🌱

Snowdrop season is now here! Our grounds will be open 12pm-4pm every Sunday and Wednesday throughout February; which also marks our 25th year of opening for our snowdrop events! 🌱

February 2026 is a special milestone year as it marks our 25th Snowdrop season at Bank Hall.

Our first Snowdrop Sunday was held on the 11th February 2001 and here is our first press release advertising our Snowdrop Sundays published in the Chorley Guardian on 6th February 2001.

Since opening we have had thousands of visitors who have come to admire the carpets of snowdrops which cover the grounds and are said to be the best display in the North West of England and one of the best in the country. 🤩

We are still raising funds for our Potting Shed Project and Walled Garden Restoration Project which will create further visitor facilities and an educational space for all ages to enjoy. 🐝

Due to the popular demand we have also opened a midweek visiting since 2023 for our Snowdrop Wednesday Walks.

Snowdrop Walk & Painting Workshop at Bank Hall, Bretherton, Saturday 7th February 10:00am-12:30pm.

Join artist Elle Morse for a workshop celebrating one of the earliest signs of spring: the snowdrop. This session is open to everyone, whether you have painted before or are completely new to it, and offers a seasonal experience that combines time outdoors with painting!

The workshop takes place at Bank Hall, Bretherton, a Jacobean manor house set within historic parkland and woodland. Once derelict, Bank Hall has been lovingly brought back to life through years of dedicated restoration and volunteer support. The building and its surroundings now offer a unique space and provides a backdrop for this spring celebration.

It is our first Snowdrop Sunday of 2025 this Sunday 2nd February. We are also open on Wednesdays throughout February. 12pm-4pm.

Admission:
🎟️ Snowdrop Walks - Pay on the gate entry.
Adults £4, Children (under 16) FREE (cash payment only)

(However, if there are any spaces on the day, cash admissions will be opened up for tours)
