This Monday, instead of the usual motivational post for self-employed individuals, I wanted to share some real insights from the world of mortgages for the self-employed and business owners.

At RNR Mortgages we’re passionate about providing a seamless, stress-free mortgage journey tailored specifically for self-employed clients and business owners. Our goal is to eliminate the stress, hassle, and anxiety often associated with mortgage applications.

But here’s the reality: as much as we’d love to, we can’t work magic and waive a magic wand. Securing the mortgage you need requires transparent, realistic income documentation. Here are two examples of recent enquiries we’ve received:

1️⃣ Sole Trader: Looking to borrow Β£450,000 on a Β£500,000 purchase, but with an annual income of just Β£16,000 on their tax calculations and no additional income sources.

2️⃣ Ltd Company Owner: A 100% owner with less than a year of trading, taking a salary of Β£1,000 per month, looking to borrow Β£150,000 based on payslips alone. In this case, we need at least one year of full accounts.

While we’re dedicated to helping you achieve your dream of home ownership, it’s essential to have accurate income documentation to ensure a successful application.
