Last year was a full hall both nights within the first hour so we are more than sure it will be the same again.

Next question: how would like to see a function in Scotland ran by us?? We get ask a lot about taking a function to Scotland and we have looked at a possible venue no date as yet looking possibly March next year for this one but would people to interested??

Blackpool & Leeds will again be running the annual Culture weekend in September. We will do an official announcement on this in the coming weeks. At this time our focus is on our chairman and his family on the passing of his wife. Flyers and all information will be posted after the funeral. Apologies for all the unanswered inbox messages regarding this event

Today one of our members went along to meet a couple of the volunteers from 5 Towns Veterans Hub and it’s so nice to hear how much they do in the community to assist our veterans. We at Leeds Somme will go away and think about how we and our followers can help out as they run breakfast clubs and other things so watch out for updates

We would like to once again thank everyone that took part in the toy appeal this year. In the end to raised a staggering £1020 that was able to buy all these toys.

Arrangements have been made to drop them into the Salvation Army on Sunday.

We also ran one last draw thanks to being re gifted the frame won in the last toy appeal raffle and raised £70 that we used to buy sweet treats. We couldn’t make our minds up on the best place for these to go but today we have contacted 5 Towns Veterans Support Hub and will be dropping these in tomorrow morning.

The generosity shown from followers all over the UK on this has been fantastic and everyone deserves a pat on the back.

It’s a very hard time of the year for many families but to know that we all did our bit to add a wee smile to some kids faces on Christmas morning makes me so proud of everyone involved.
