Leeds Somme Association not forgetting the local regiments from Leeds that also went to the Somme.

Leeds Somme Association was founded in January 2013 our focus being on giving understanding in the role in which the 36th Ulster Division played during the Great War 1914-1918 and remembering the fallen who bravely gave their lives on the bloody battlefields of the Somme.

This Saturday, we will have a small stall opened outside THE PIZZA CABIN before the parade on the Shankill Road between 1pm and 3pm.

We will have a selection of badges, flags, keyrings and other items available for sale in order to fundraise for next year's trip to France and Flanders.

We would like to thank the organizers of the parade who have given us this opportunity and to thank the owners of the Pizza Cabin for the spot outside their shop.

We hope to see many of our friends and followers on what should be an enjoyable day.

We are delighted to announce that we will be running a function on Friday 23rd October in the Mountainview Social Club.

A Night of Culture will feature Scotland's top cultural music artist. Doors open at 7pm and entry will be priced at £5.00.

We have had a long conversation regarding kids at the culture weekend and we totally understand that Blackpool is a holiday destination for many people so kids being with the adults is something that is possible from time to time. Taking this into account and the fact that last year the small amount of kids that did attend with family were very well behaved we have agreed to allow this to continue HOWEVER moving forward everyone coming in the door is a paying guest so unfortunately you will be charged £5 per kid.

Last year was a full hall both nights within the first hour so we are more than sure it will be the same again.
