The role of a Community Committee is to:
• give you the opportunity to have more influence on how Council services are delivered in your area
• improve the delivery and co-ordination of local council services, and improve the quality of local decision making
• take locally based decisions that deal with local issues
• promote working relationships with Parish and Town Councils
• promote the wellbeing of their area

Community Committee’s will agree a Community Plan to frame its priorities and guide its work. It will also manage two funding streams: the Wellbeing Fund and the Youth Activities Fund, this is funding that is spent locally in your area and is accessed by a wide range of partners to provide local services and improve local communities. Community Committee meetings are open to the public and anyone can attend. Each meeting has an open forum section where members of the public can raise issues. On a more local level, our area is broken down into smaller areas covered by neighbourhood forum meetings which share information relevant to your local area. There is a local forum for you! Please get in touch so we can advise you which is the best one for you. Check out our events tab for details of our meetings and we look forward to seeing you at one soon. Leeds Libraries is carrying out a short survey to find out what people need, how they use (or don't currently use) our libraries and what's important to them. We want to encourage people from all Leeds communities to take part and have a say in determining our future direction. The results will inform the next library service strategic plan.

From knife crime to violence against women and girls – serious violence has a wide-ranging impact on our community. The Mayor of West Yorkshire has launched a major consultation on this issue and is calling on people across the region to share their views. The Serious Violence Strategy will be co-produced with communities and partners across the region, ensuring that it is informed by the views and expertise of the people most impacted by serious violence.
By working with local communities, we can identify solutions and drive meaningful change. Together we can build a safer, brighter future for West Yorkshire.
Help us to build a safer West Yorkshire today by sharing what matters to you in our online survey: https://www.yourvoice.westyorks-ca.gov.uk/seriousviolence or use the QR code below
There is also a child version of the survey available to download here: https://www.yourvoice.westyorks-ca.gov.uk/42837/widgets/127668/documents/88086

The much-loved and frequently visited Temple Newsam Estate is proposing road closures and is currently gathering public feedback through a live consultation.
Over recent years, Temple Newsam estate has experienced a significant increase in unauthorised traveller encampments, anti-social driving, illegal vehicular anti-social behaviour meetings and other illegal activities, particularly during nighttime hours.
These activities have caused substantial damage to the park's grounds, Temple Newsam House, adjacent farm building and impacted the nearby community. In response to this issue, Leeds City Council are proposing to limit road access.
Please click on the link below for further information and to have your say by 16th September 2025:
